Ponn Manickavel of appropriating efforts taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to bring back from Australia an idol of Lord Nataraja stolen from Sri Kulasekaramudaiyar Temple at Kallidaikurichi in Tirunelveli district in 1982.
